Outside my window ...

Its been light since about 5:15 am. This is the longest day of the year. The Summer Solstice. Summer begins here!  It was quite cold yesterday. I hope today is a bit warmer, although I know we will soon be complaining that it is too hot!

I am thinking ...

I am stressing a tiny bit about having to get all the things I need to get done before Sunday this week, but trying not to. At least I slept better last night! What will be will be!

I am thankful for ...

The internet and all of the resources we have available to us. That can be a great blessing when you are needing information or inspiration! 

In the kitchen ...

Chicken Caprese.  Simple to make, quick to, and very delicious!

Chelsea's Messy Apron . . .  Mexican Wedding Cookies. I have not made these in years. I had a recipe my sister had given me a long time ago that I used to make. They were fabulously delicious!

The settlers of Acadia were either French or English, and though their villages might be but a stone's throw apart, most could go an entire lifetime without speaking to someone from the other side.

And then the chance encounter in a meadow of wild flowers...

This story revolves around the expulsion of the Acadians from Nova Scotia, and is the first in a series of books. Very good.
