To let go . . .

To let go doesn't mean to stop caring, it means I can't do it for someone else.

To let go is not to cut myself off, its the realization that I don't control another.

To let go is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consquences.

To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands.

To let go is not to try to change or blame another, I can only change myself.

To let go is not to care for, but to care about.

To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.

To let go is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.

To le go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes, bu to allow others to affect their own outcomes.

To let go is not to be protective, it is to permit another to face reality.

To let go is not to deny, but to accept.

To let go is not to nag, scold or argue, but to search out my own shortcomings and to correct them.

To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires, but to tae each day as it comes and to cherish the moment.

To let go is not to criticise and regulate anyone but to try to become what I dream I can be.

To let go is no to regret the past but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more.

I have this book I got from the Billy Graham Organisation many moons ago, entitled Stories from the Heart.  This was in it. I thought it very profound.  Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself and for others is to just let go.

Its very chilly out there this morning.  We had terrible winds all day yesterday.  The wind blew everything around the garden. It blew our patio table right across the patio and into the gate, but interestingly enough it did not knock over the bird table.  Odd that.

I started a new IG account.  Little Things Amuse Me.  I thought it would be fun to keep a pictorial diary of sorts.  Just one photo a day. For a year.  To see what my year looks like. In pictures. Of course at the moment, there's not a lot of things to photograph, but even that is a diary of sorts . . .

This is a ceramic fairy door sent me by a beloved friend a while back and a russian ceramic wren that I bought off Etsy.  I am a sucker for birds . . . they go together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong . . .  remembered forever as shoo-bop sha wadda wadda yippity boom de boom . . .

And with that I will leave you with a thought for today  . . .

In the English Kitchen today  . . .  Dark Chocolate Layer Cake for Two.  I only iced the top and the middle and I added a layer of cherry jam.  Even the chocolate hater enjoyed.

Have a great Saturday.  This is a Bank Holiday Weekend here and I think in American as well.  How often does that happen outside of Christmas and Easter!  Have a good one. Stay safe and don't forget!

  1. So true...letting go...so hard and it takes a long time to get there...but after awhile, it gets easier...life is for learning and learning can be expensive...but every person needs to do so...so stepping aside and letting that happen is necessary sometimes. So it has gone in my life. Sending you hugs, Elizabeth xoxo

When stories appear and the filters are used ..the weird ones..I have to scroll past? Isn't that weird of me?I remember yrs ago when Caro got an IPAD and one photo function was that and they were all getting a kick out of it..I could not look.
It seems my sense of humor isn't wired for for that..

  3. I find it wonderful to let go and let God. He does such a much better job of handling things than I can.

  4. I really enjoyed reading, the thoughts on letting go. It is something to work on in my own life. I liked the thought at the end; "You Don't have to attend every argument you are invited too."
We had terrible winds last night too. We didn't have any damage which was a blessing.
I like your idea of a picture a day; I will ponder on that one.
The chocolate cake caught my eye for sure.
