Yesterday it dawned on me. Not a lot has changed for me during this lockdown, with the exception of two things. I no longer can go out grocery shopping and I can't go to church. I really am a homebody.
I am thankful for ...
That in my whole lifetime, this is the worst thing I have experienced. I've been really blessed to have grown up in a time of peace and prosperity, with enough of everything I needed to survive.

DeleteHi, Marie! As always... sooo HAPPY to visit here and catch up with you! :) Like you, not a lot has changed for me/us during the lockdown. We're at home a lot, and TJ has long had opportunities for home office days, and being interovert too--we were almost made for such times... haha! ;) But seriously, we are blessed, and have been doing well, keeping safe, and coping good. Restrictions are easing up here, but life will continue it this safe, slow way for a good while yet... :/ I saw your tuna pot pie on you IG--great idea! Lots of FUN things here today. That closet safe is a great idea... an so it the upcycled shirt apron! Your current reading sounds really good! LOVE that silver bird bracelet... *SWOON*... And how pretty is that frothy latte with pink blossoms--how DID they do that??! "You've Got Mail"--oh, that is a good rom/com classic now, isn't it?! Haven't watched that in ages... DeleteDid you watch Phantom Thread with Daniel Day Lewis? Your book made me think of that..My life has not changed either except family wise..and groceries..and I guess soon the garden centre..will have to see..the focaccia I omitted brushing butter and adding garlic after the bake.I liked it just so:)
ReplyDeleteLots of pretty thing Marie..Thank goodness for crafts and such..had this happened 10 yrs ago..or 11 I may have felt differently.But I had a personal lockdown 10 yrs ago..which paved the way..to all this..Out of this world happening.
Oh I have not seen that film, but it looks very good. I will watch out for it. I like Daniel Day Lewis. We are truly living in a strange world at the moment and for how long . . . perhaps forever. I don't know, but I don't think there will be an easy fix to this one. Love and hugs, xoxo
DeleteSome here are saying we would have done better following Sweden's example...the herd immunity thing. I remember when I was young, the moms would purposely expose their kids to chickenpox, mumps, measles etc...there was no shots, so that was how one got immunity. Seemed to work well. My older 2 got such a mild case of chickenpox, I was not totally sure it was that...and then again, as teenagers (when my 5 yr old got them) and THEN they were so awfully sick!! I guess I should have exposed the older 2 by school age, purposely. I am wondering if indeed this virus will now come around again in this country because the youngers have not developed the herd immunity for us. I see the reason for us oldies to stay home...hubby and I are home the huge majority of the time anyway...but I do not see the sense for the youngers. And also reading more of those who got the 2 drugs, ones already being in use, plus zinc and recovered...some docs using it have not lost a single patient. Seems those with successes should have more say!! But then, isn't that how it always is? Often those with the most wisdom are ignored. Well, we have missed our hugs with our granddaughter and she with us...she would run and throw herself into our arms...but cannot now...we only see them at least 6 feet away. Sad...probably make for sad memories for the little ones especially!! Take care...hope you and yours stay well!!

Yup! Stuck home except for groceries, medications. I hate the no church thing, but I love our precious sacred sacrament meetings with just the two of us.
