My Favourite Things . . .

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOOPpfEd5Zsq2tbOc2-UBk6Njak8VrG7e7evggWXGZ2mh-j53ekFS5_iJ7oLR7meELGbGOHT1tpJoMRH-WDForIBx-F86puBU5K_uuGKf1hWiGc5Jko8kG6S71gFooUD3ZEZNrNzAWfJI/s320/alfp_favorite_things.png

These are a few of my favourite things.  Maybe some of them are yours also!  A few of the things which catch my eye, inspire me, pluck at my heart strings, make me smile, or that I just enjoy. I hope that they will do the same for you.

Brown Betty Tea Pots.  I don't own one because they are expensive and I don't drink regular teas, but I love their old fashioned look and the colour. I love anything traditional.

Orange cats.  I have always been partial to them. It is a love I shared with my mother. Todd got me a kitten not too long after I moved over here. Dandy. He was orange.

Wooly Jumpers  . . .

Painted wooden cupboards.  I also like walls that are half painted and half papered . . .

Anise seed.  Do you remember those hard ball candies when you were a child, with the anise seed in the centre.  I have always loved the flavour of anise.

Plaited hair  . . .

Dog noses  . . . .

Cat noses also  . . . .

Clouds  . . . . they are magical  . . . . do you see pictures in clouds?

Pancakes  . . . .  I like mine with syrup, bacon and tinned peaches  . . .

Where do I start . . .  the door, the bed, the bedding, the walls, ceiling  . . . .

Ivory Soap. It has always been my favourite. You can't get it over here.  I have always loved the way that it smells and its purity.

A nice long foot soak  . . .

Fresh towels . . . .

This book  . . . .

And those are my favourite things for this week  . . .

Grace insisted locking herself in the crate with Dexter.  There was no way she was letting him out.  She is so cute.

I found this photo of my girls.  Eileen would be about 8 and Amanda 6.  I loved the wallpaper that I had in my living room at that time.  But I loved these two wee girls more. Still do.

Oh and I have to show you this. It is our Doug, taken in the hospital when he was 3 days old. Look at the hair.  It was phenomenal.  He always had a serious look on his face when he was small.  Right from the get go . . .

A thought to carry with you  . . .

I'm sharing some of my favourite recipes in the kitchen today.  Just the tip of the ice berg that is a mammoth amount of work.  Can you believe I still am unable to access my photos in Photobucket?  Its still ongoing.  Its been over a month.  I reckon I should get a rebate.

Have a wonderful Thursday.  Don't forget!

  2. Hi Marie, I thought it ended rather abruptly. But never mind, the whole post is there now. Glad I went back to take a second look. Love that little orange tabby. What a sweet photo of your girls. Grace in the cage with Dexter, how cute is that? And how cute is Doug? Only three days old. I'm going to try and go back to sleep. It's too early for breakfast (3:20 am). Enjoy your day. Hugs, Elaine

    1. She is big Barb, and a very determined little girl. We love her to bits. Doug came out with tons of hair and was quitet a conversation starter! People paid so much attention to him just because of the hair. Not usual I don't think for babies to have so much! None of the others did except for Amanda. Love and hugs. xoxo

  6. Lovely post - and that bedroom is just too beautiful! We had the dearest orange boy cat - he was so affectionate and especially loved my husband. Your children - so sweet. Love to look back at old photos too.
