My Friday Finds . . .

A few of the things  I find each week that pique my interest, bring me joy, inspire me to learn, create, do, become, inspire memories . . . maybe they will do the same for you!

Saving Dessert.  These Hazelnut Nutella Cookies are callling my name. Not so much the nutella part, but the nut cookie part.  I love nut cookies!  I think if I made these I would fill them with Bonne Maman Salted Caramel spread.

Lisa Craft on IG.  Inspo only.  Bobble knit swathers. So cute!

Krisalms Strikkegleder on IG, also inspo only.  I do so love a knitted baby layette.

Knitted Pixie Hat. Dover and Madden on Etsy. Not free but not expensive.

Petite Knit on Ravelry. Little Brother's Romper.

Fil Katia on Ravelry.  I love this one too.  And no, before anyone asks, I don't know anything, just dreaming about knitting baby stuff.

Seasons and Suppers.  Cannoli Filled Cream Puffs. These look dangerous.

Lunar Heavenly on IG.  A beautiful account.   I used to crochet with thread back when I had eyes that count concentrate on the small stuff.

My Porch Prints.  Love this Shabby Roses Folio Kit.  I love doing stuff like this, but downsizing. What would I do with it when I was done?

Everything Corolie.  Granny's old fashioned knitted slippers.  Made many of these through the years.

Glue Sticks Blog.  Three steps fleece pillow-cases.

Apartment Therapy.  Nine ways to take paper snowflakes to the next level.

Cath Holden.  Stitch and fold paper houses. Little Luminaries.  These are adorable.

Recipe Tin Eats.  Chinese Crispy Noodles with Chicken.  I love Crispy Noodles.

Home Talk. Hand Pressed Flower Candles.

Never Not Knitting on Ravelry.  Wildflower Cardigan.

The Paper Heart. Pocket Gift Tags.

Fab Art Diy.  Fairie Flower Tea Light tutorial.

Maker Mama.  Paper Ball Ornament Tutorial.

And those are my finds for this week. I hope you saw something of interest here!

Its my Father's Birthday today.  I wish I could be there in person to spoil him and wish him a Happy Birthday.  Things just haven't worked out that way.  Hes 86 today!  I love you Dad and I hope you have a wonderful day!  I inherited plenty of things from my father including my brown eyes, my round face, my bum-chin and my love of reading.  Also my easy-happy-go-lucky personality and my love of words.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!  I LOVE YOU! I know my sister will be doing something special for him today.

A thought to carry with you . . .

In The English Kitchen today  . . .  Smoky Garlic & Tomato Prawns.

I spent half of yesterday sitting with Doreen and holding her hand.  She's not doing too well. Billy needed to go out and do some banking and stuff, so I told him to go and I would stay with Doreen.  We talked a little, she slept a lot.  I played her favourite church hymns for her on my phone.   I am going to call later this morning to see how she is. She told me yesterday she never wanted to be 90 years old. Its too hard. Please keep her and Billy in your prayers.  Thank you!

Have a wonderful Friday. Don't forget . . .

  1. Hi Marie, I'm so sorry Doreen is not well. That was very kind of you to stay with her. I will remember her and Billie in my prayers. Happy Birthday to your Dad. It is my sister's birthday today, too. But sadly, no interaction there as we are estranged. I do wish her well, though. Loved your Friday Finds. I used to make those slippers but I usually added a pompom. And the knitted layette - so sweet. When I see a baby or a young child in something handknit, I know that child is loved. I'm going to check out how to make those snowflakes. They are so pretty. We are expecting a major snow storm tomorrow so we will be out and about getting provisions today but first it's breakfast time. Coffee and scrambled eggs on a toasted bagel. We undecorated our tree yesterday and everything got packed safely away for another year. I hung the beautiful littke British robin you gave me in the windiw where it will catch the light. We enjoyed the tree last night with just the lights remaining but it will go out in the back garden to give shelter to the wee beasties and birds. Take gentle care. Hugs, Elaine

    1. Thanks very much Elaine. I am so sorry about you and your sister. Family is so precious, but at the same time they can be a right pain. I know how you feel due to similar circumstances in my own life. It hurts, but somehow you learn to live with it. I hope that you don't get too much snow. They are having snow in Nova Scotia also. No snow here, just rain, rain, rain. I am so pleased that you will be able to enjoy the robin in the window light. That was my intention. Mom has one. I have one. My sister has one and you have one. Yay! It always seems so empty when the tree comes down. Love and hugs. xoxo

  5. Hi Marie~

Happy Birthday to your dear father...86 is really something to celebrate!!

Many prayers for your dear friend, Doreen. My mother used to say the same thing about being old, I hope she finds comfort through the many prayers being sent her way.

So many cute things to see today! I especially love the snowflakes and the luminaries. I'm am trying to get an early start on Christmas this year. I think it's the little things that make holidays special, not the big stuff.

All the crafty things are so cute! I used to love making crafts, but now it's just clutter unless I give them away...and that's not a bad idea!

Loved it all!! Love to you and Todd XOXOXO

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb
