These are a few of my favourite things.  Maybe some of them are yours also!  A few of the things which catch my eye, inspire me, pluck at my heart strings, make me smile, or that I just enjoy. I hope that they will do the same for you.

Opening up my new calendars for the year and putting all the dates into them.  Pondering on the year to come and saying a little prayer that all will be well.   I adore new calendars, especially Susan Branch ones.  I have gotten hers for years!  (literally!)

Tea Light Holders  . . .  especially this time of year, and scented tea lights.

The music of Paul Cardall. I am a big time fan of all that he does.  Look him up on You Tube.  You are guaranteed to fall in love with his music also.  Largely instrumental.

Red Double Decker Buses.  Very iconically British!

Raggedy Ann and Andy.  My very first real boyfriend bought me a Raggedy Ann.  I cherished it. It used to be at my mom's. Not sure what happened to it through the years . . .

Vintage Valentines  . . .

Looking for four leaf clovers and the excitment you feel when you find one  . . .

Green tunnels  . . .

Bed linens that have been hung to dry outside on the line . . .  that smell is heaven to me  . . .

Temples of the Lord . . .  I love being there  . . .

Anything Downton . . . .  anything  . . .

Remembering mom  . . .

People in my life that have helped to shape me . . . .  They are always with me.

Poldark  . . .

Anne Shirley  . . .  a reminder of my birthplace and home  . . .

This journey we call life  . . .

Starry, starry  nights  . . . .

New year, new page, new opportunities   . . .

A thought to carry with you  . . .

In The English Kitchen today, Garlic Butter Steak with a Creamy Mushroom Sauce. Yummilicious!

Have a great day! Whatever you get up to, don't forget!

  1. Hi Marie, I have a Susan Branch calendar, too. I must write in all the important events/dates before I hang it up. You know, all your lovely watercolours of fairies/little girls would make a lovely calendar. Just sayin'. I made my niece Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. That was many years ago. She is 45 now and the mother of two teenage daughters. How fast the years go by. Enjoy your day. Hugs, Elaine

    1. I treat myself every year Elaine, I need to buy two because I hatet to spoil it writing on it. I know! What is the point of having a calendar! I write on one and keep the other for good! I bet your niece really treasured those dolls! Where does the time fly? I know now where, only that it does and sometimes it scares me at the speed of which it flies! Love and hugs, xoxo

    1. I like the ME Page a day one also, but last year I never looked at it once. Its still sitting on my desk intact. Mind you I hardly used my desk either! They have the pound shop here which is like your dollar shop, but again, not a lot is actually a pound and most of it is chinese crapola! I hope you enjoy Paul! I find his music wonderful to paint to! xoxo

  3. Hi Marie!

I got out my 2020 calendar, filled in all the appointments and special dates...such a good thing to do in January.

I'm looking forward to some green, as we got about 5 inches of new snow yesterday. I guess that's what I get for complaining about no snow!

Raggdy Ann and Andy! I never did have one, but always wanted one. I had other dolls that I'm sure where thrown out years ago...so sad.

Valentines day is right around the corner! Good things to look forward to, I love making a fuss on Valentines day.

I listened to Elder Hollands' talk about, Lot's wife this morning, such a good one. It really reminded me to stop living in the past, to look forward and keep my eyes on a better tomorrow...such a wise man.

I love Paul Cardall, very soothing.

    Love you sweet friend!

    Hugs,
    Barb
