My Friday Finds . . .

A few of the things  I find each week that pique my interest, bring me joy, inspire me to learn, create, do, become, inspire memories . . . maybe they will do the same for you!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Canadian family and friends.  With this being a holiday weekend and a long one on top of it, lots of them will be getting together to celebrate.  Here are some great ideas for perfect photo opportunities and things to do while they are enjoying each other's company! I wish I could be there with you!

Nordstroms. Inspiration only.

Inspiration only. Ideas for a Sweet & Salty Snack Board.  I think this is fabulous! Filled with lovely picky bits for your guests to munch on while they enjoy each other's company and await the big feast!

Earth, Food & Fire. How to make sourdough starter from scratch. I've not had much success with this in the past, perhaps I should try again!

Positively Splendid. Cinnamon Roll Bundt Cake. Looks gorgeous!

Rescued Paw Designs.  Free pattern. I see this in a variety of colours done with cotton yarn as a table matt.

Maybe even these colours. I can't find a source for this one.  Beautiful in it's simplicity.

I love these table matts.  They are kits you can buy. From Shabby Fabrics

Rebekah L Smith. I love this primitive scissors keep. Again inspiration only.

Lisa Jordan. This as well.

Amanda Crochets.  Waffle Stitch Blanket. Pretty!

Quilting Digest. Not free, but I love these slippers.

Loves Crafts. My first knitted bonnet.  Pattern. Not free, but not expensive either.

The Emerald Pixie on Etsy. Knitted diaper covers.

Love this also.  The Emerald Pixie on Etsy as well.

Esther Braithewaite on Ravelry.  Cute!

Look at these!  Knitty Kids on Instagram. Adorable!

These too, same account. Aren't they adorable!

Natural Saburbia.  Cute!  Seamus the owl. Free.

Eats Amazing, Puff Pastry Pizza Pies. Cute!

Life on Cedar Lane, a bit of house envy with an Autumn Home Tour.

And with that I best leave you with a thought for the day  . . .

WE absolutely loved Downton Abbey yesterday!  We were so happy we had gone to it.  I laughed, I cried, I adored every minute of it!  The chairs in the theatre were so comfortable.  I am in an incredible amount of pain. The only time it isn't hurting a whole lot is when I am laying down and even then  . . . I guess I better break down and go see a Doctor.  It takes so long to get anything done these days.  I'm not sure they could do anything.  I keep hoping it will go off.  I have had back problems for years but this is the worst it has ever been.

Baked Sea Bass with a Lemon Parmesan Cream

In The English Kitchen today  . . .  Roasted Sea Bass with a Lemon & Parmesan Cream. Delicious!

I hope you have a wonderful Friday!  May it be filled with the people and things that you love.  Don't forget!

  2. I'm sorry your back is still so painful, Marie. Yes, please go see your doctor. It can't hurt and may help. Loved all the little knitted and crochet things, especially the Knitty Kids - so adorable. I knew you and Todd would love Downton. Two of my friends are going tomorrow to see it again. I'm looking forward to seeing the new "Little Women" movie that opens here on Christmas Day. My friend and I plan to see it the week between Christmas and New Years. Yikes! Can't believe I'm talking Christmas. Happy Thanksgiving. One year I didn't want to cook a turkey so I bought the largest chicken I could find and told everyone it was a small turkey. Everyone loved it and no one even questioned it. Perhaps they were just being polite, lol. Take gentle care. Hugs, Elaine

  3. I agree..constant pain is life altering:(
I hope you get relief soon..Some things don't get better.
But some things do..See a doctor..or a physio..Often muscle pains clear on their own but if you can see a Doc..if only to reassure you.Worry is debilitating too.

    1. Yes, movies are a real treat, when we are going out to them and paying a high price to see them, although the new lower price means we may go more often! The hemp oil is starting to work I think. Fingers crossed! xoxo

  5. Hi Marie~

I'm so sorry that you are in so much pain...you are right, it's probably time to go get it checked out. You will be in my prayers, I hope you can find relief as soon as possible.

Cute ideas today, Marie. The pizza looked incredible! I've never had squash on pizza, yum!

All the knitted projects are so adorable, and I'm so glad that you enjoyed DA. I can hardly wait to go see it!

  6. Oh, my sweet friend, it is like coming home to read your blog posts again. I just seem to be getting further behind in my life and it needs to slow down so I can visit my friends.
I loved reading this one. I loved all the crocheted items and I want to make that colorful blanket. All the food items made my mouth water; especially the pizza.
I loved the fall activity chart at the first; lots of fun things to do.
I am happy you got to go to the movie. I may try and take my granddaughters next week.
I'm concerned about your back and hope you can feel better soon.
Sending loving thoughts, prayers and hugs your way!
