  1. My...YOU are a Whitman too?? Marie...someplace along the line in our ancient past, we must be related. One of my great grandmas was a Whitman (she descends from the couple on the Mayflower, John Alden and Pricilla Mullin)...amazing...no wonder I find you a kindred soul...you may actually be ancient kin to me!!! WOWEE!!
Sending hugs...your "maybe cousin", Elizabeth xoxo

    1. I believe you may be right Elizabeth. I, too, had ancestors on the Mayflower. Elizabeth Tilly, plus her parents and Aunt and Uncle, and John Howland whom Elizabeth married. They had ten children, who all lived to adulthood. Sadly both her parents and Aunt Uncle perished in the first year in the New World. I think she must have been a very brave little girl as she was only 12 when she made the journey! I am sure we have a connection somewhere along the line! xoxo

  4. All I can think of looking at the picture of Ms. Whitman is "OMG I'd die if I had to dress like that." :) Can you imagine having to go around with so many clothes on? Noooooo. LOL

    1. Really? I thought it was a great time of elegance. I look at her curls and think how she must have made a real effort to look lovely for the photograph, and how this must have been her best Sunday-go-to-meeting dress. There is almost a glimmer of a smile there, so she must have liked the photographer because people didn't smile in photos back in those days. I think she must have been a woman with a brilliant sense of humor! And I see my Aunt Freda in her. xoxo

  5. Loved those sweet little acorns. I think I could do that. I'll be in search of acorn caps now. Did you leave a comment for Susan to have a chance to win her beautiful mugs? Sure hope her wrist heals soon. It's a busy season coming up. Enjoy your weekend, Marie. Hope the weather gives you something nice. I'm off to make a fish stew for dinner. Hugs, Elaine

    1. I know Elaine, I was thinking of all the walks Todd and I used to take through the orchard and all the acorns we would be walking on and wishing I had some of them now! I did leave a comment. I hope her wrist heals quickly also. I am hoping it hasn't held her back too awfully much! Love and hugs to you always! xoxo

Your comments mean the world to me, and while I may not be able to address each one individually, each one is important to me and each one counts. Thanks so much!
