My Friday finds . . .

A few of the things  I find each week that pique my interest, bring me joy, inspire me to learn, create, do, become . . . maybe they will do the same for you!

Chatelaine. I remember my mom making sandwiches like these for get-togethers she was either hosting or going to when I was a girl. How to make perfect pinwheel sandwiches.

I love Crochet.  Crochet beautiful flowers.  Easy.

No source, but how is this for a beautiful veggie tray!

Isn't this dress amazing!  I think it is by French designer Sylvie Facon.

A Purpose and A Stitch.  Chamomile Tea Towel.

Daisy Farm Crafts.  Crochet harlequin Blanket.  I really like this pattern.

I couldn't find a source for this brooch either, but it looks fairly simple to make.  Love it!

31 Daily. Tea Primer.

Daily Crochet.  Lace Scarf pattern.

No pattern.  Just eye candy.  A pretty felt garland from Anthropologie. Sold out.

Etsy.  Felt Cactus Garden, DIY   Kit includes everything you need to make.

They also have a kit to make this really cute Christmas Town Wall hanging.

A Bountiful Kitchen.  Diane's no fail french bread.  I am going to try this!  Her SIL served his mission here. I have a picture somewhere of him being held up by the other missionaries on our sofa on Christmas Day.  I think they were the bunch who convincd me that they were allowed to watch Jack the Giant Killer.

Do you remember being given a pint of milk in Grade School?  I always hated it as the milk was always warm.

Momound Carla.  Etsy.  No how to's.  Just pretty.   Embroidery hoops and dried flowers.

Not sure how true any of this is.

This actually does work.

Ravelry.  Garden View Shawlette.

Cobberson & Co.  Free printable labels.

Simply Yarn.  Stash Buster drawer or Wardrobe freshener bags. Free Pattern.

And there you have it. My finds for this week.

A thought to carry with you . . . .

for summer, for someone

Macedonian Fruit Salad

In the kitchen today  . . .  Macedonian Fruit Salad. Nom nom!!

My son is home from the hospital now, but very tired.  I didn't realise it (I think they try to protect me from things and don't always tell me the whole story,) but he was in heart failure.  :-(  Please keep praying for him.  Thanks so much!

Also according to my oldest daughter, she is coming over in August and my oldest son is coming with her, not her husband.  Sounds good to me!  Finally!  Its taken her a while to save up her money but it looks like it is finally going to happen!

Have a wonderful Friday.  I hope you spend it doing something you love.  Don't forget!

  1. Hi Marie, I'm sure your family would want to protect you from such bad news, especially with just losing your Mum. I'd be the same. But so, so pleased he's home and on the mend. Also how wonderful you can see him and talk to him through a computer screen!! I don't understand how all this happens but so glad it does!

How exciting to have two of your children coming over to see you. You must be so pleased, especially after all your bad news. Things are looking up!

I believe we're in for a ton of rain today so stay warm and dry. I got soaked to the skin yesterday walking to my sisters, about 15 minutes away, and then they weren't in when I got there so I had to walk back. They'd both forgotten I was coming!

    Lot's of love xxx

    1. It does give me something very much to look forward to Kate! I am truly grateful for the miracles of Modern Technology. I know that it is a bit of a double edged sword sometimes, but I think if you use it responsibly, you will be okay! Brrr, who would think we are a week into June eh! Sorry you got soaked thru yesterday. ((((hugs)))) Love and hugs. xxo

  3. Softening butter? That's brilliant!
Yes, I recall the wee cartons of milk we'd be given in school. What I liked best, they'd came with strawberry or chocolate-filled straws to disguise the taste.

  4. Hope things continue to improve for your son!! At least he has made it thus far!! So many neat ideas today...thank you!! I am with you...HATED the horrid milk in school. Hated milk in general too however. I cannot even eat any milk products now...guess my body knew, even as a child, what was not good for it. SO HAPPY you have 2 kids coming over in August...how exciting!!!

  5. Hi Marie, I love the pinwheel sandwiches, especially the banana and peanut butter ones. I remember the milk at school. We never left home without our milk money. I think it was a dime. So glad to hear Doug is home with the peope who love him. Will continue to pray for his strong recovery. And now you have Eileen and Anthony's lovely visit to look forward to in August. Hugs, Elaine
