The Simple Woman's Daybook . . .

FOR TODAY, June 5, 2018

Outside my window ...
Its overcast and cool, but dry. I think today is supposed to be a fine day, so this cloud cover should dissipate and we will then have a nice day.

I am thinking ...
My friend Tatiana is coming for a holiday for a couple of weeks in August.  I can't wait to see her.  My niece Alison is planning on coming for a few days while Tatiana is here. I can't wait to see her also. The house will be filled with the people I love and that is just how I like  it! ♥♥♥

In the Kitchen ...

BBQ Beef Sliders with Caramelized Onions. I like this kind of sandwich, not only are they easy to make a delicious, but I can size them down to just us very easily!

On my "To Cook" list ...

Laughing Spatula.  These blueberry pie bars look mighty good.

Good to know ...

I am Creating ...

I quite like this garter stitch blanket. From CatReading on Ravelry.

Blooming flower cushion by Lucy of Attic 24.  Love the bright colours!

Love the Bluebird.  Free pattern for a shower scrubby.

Potato Chip Scarf, looks really simple.  From Krafty Kash.

Yarnspirations.  Basic Garter Stitch Slippers.

I am Reading ...

Dead to You, by Lisa McMann

Ethan was abducted from his front garden when he was just seven years old. Now, at sixteen, he has returned to his family. It's a miracle. At first. Then the tensions start to build, and his family starts falling apart all over again. If only Ethan could remember something, anything, about his life before, he'd be able to put the pieces back together. But there's something that's keeping his memory blocked. Something unspeakable.

Just started it.

I am looking forward to ...
Having my visitors this summer!

Dreaming About ...

Pretty floral pillows  . . .

A flowery lamp to read by  . . .

A goal for the week ...
Each day find one thing that you no  longer use and give it away.

Makes me smile ...

I found this old photo the other day of Mitzie with the lad next door. Its from not too long after we got her, so 8 years ago, August.  She will be 8 years old herself tomorrow.  And of course the lad is a grown man now. Time flies . . .  she was such a sleep little puppy in this picture . . .

Corners of my kingdom ...

The large vestibule at the entrance to the Victoria & Albert Museum.  That is a Rotunder Chandelier.  Beautiful.  I think the V&A museum is one of my favourites. So much to see in there.  All fascinating.

And that's my daybook for this week!

  3. Yummy food items on your day book entry; I loved them both.
Thanks for the tutorial for scrubbing different kinds of pans; it's perfect.
As always, I love the crocheted items. I especially liked the scarf and the slippers. My feet are cold right now and I wish I had some like these.
The book looks intriguing. I guess that the kidnapping had more too it perhaps. You always choose some great books to read. I am at least back reading a novel again; which is so fun.
I always love what you are dreaming about because we have the same tastes in many items. I love the dishes the most on this one.
The picture of the little boy and Mitzie are so cute. Our Sammy will turn 9 this fall so they are close in age. He brings so much joy into our lives as your Mitzie does.
I am very excited for you to have friends come for a visit; that is awesome. I know you like to have them.
Blessing and hugs for you all! Have a sweet Thursday~
