A beautiful woman uses her lips for truth,
her voice for kindness, her ears for compassion,
her hands for charity, and her heart for love.
For those who do not like her, she uses prayer.

BOOK OF MORMON CORNER - Today's Reading -2 Nephi 4:28-5:9
Question - What do you learn from the way Nephi pleads with the Lord? Why do you think some blessings are conditional on fasting & praying and others are not?

My thoughts - Nephi praises God, he asks for redemption, deliverance, and a hatred towards sin. He asks a lot of things but he also testifies to us in verse 35 that God is generous and wants to bless us with things that will help us. What I am learning at the moment is that there are some things he cannot bless us with because it would encroach upon our agency, so He eagerly waits until we ask. There is a brilliant talk called "when my prayers feel unanswered" by S. Michael Wilcox. I love it! He talks about sometimes our prayer can't be answered until a certain time when we can give place to receive it. I know this is true. I had to wait a very long time for an answer to a prayer I had, it came when I could give place for it in my heart, and in the most unimaginable way. I love this phrase from the song "in seasons of distress and grief, my soul has often found relief...I'll cast on him my ev'ry care". How blessed I feel to know I have a loving Father in Heaven who wants me to pour out my soul to Him. God is good!

Tomorrow's Reading (Day 43) - 2 Nephi 5:10-25
Question -What have you learnt from the reading today? What were Nephi's priorities?

In the English Kitchen today  . . .  Frosty Cottage Pie.  Perfect for these colder days and a bit of fun for the family.

Have a wonderful Friday! Stay safe and stay warm and don't forget!
