My Friday Finds . . .

A few of the things I find each week that inspire, excite and motivate me to want to get up and do something.  Maybe they will do the same for you.

I haven't tried this yet, so I cannot truthfully endorse it, but I am going to try it and let you know!  Now I wonder if they mean liquid or creamed honey? Apparently you also need to use baking soda, so here is the link.

This would go hand in hand.  From Diabetic tips.

How to use bubblewrap to keep your floating flowers floating. From Smart School House.

From Shelley's Crochet Ole.  A cute baby bunting to crochet.  Not free, but not expensive either.

I love these sweet little crochet kimono booties.  Adorable.  From The Whoot.

Lilyhammer.  We just started watching this on Netflix and it is brilliant.  We are hooked.  Only one episode in and we are looking forward to episode two. A New York Mobster goes into hiding in rural Norway after testifying against his former associates.  It brilliant.

An Italian in My Kitchen.  Peach filled Crostata Bars.  These look incredibly delicious.

A seasonal produce guide for July. I like to eat seasonaly if I can.  From Healthy Life for Me.

Cosy Stripe Blanket from  Attic 24. I love this!

From Creative Mom.  How to build a farmhouse bench for less than $20.

Make your own Citronella Candles.  Great idea from Martys Musings.

Put It In A Jar.  A complete tutorial on how to make your own oil lamps using a mason jar.

No link, just inspiration for a tea pot birdhouse.  This is so sweet.

Mason Jar Pin Cushion Sewing Kit.  What a lovely gift this would make.  From E How.

The Tea House  Top and Dress Pattern.  Simple, a pattern from Sew House Seven. Love this.

Tessuiti.  Alice Dress Top Pattern.  I love this also.  I used to sew all my own clothes.  Perhaps I need to start again.

A flight of fancy . . .  I wonder who lives here?

  1. Oh Marie it has taken over 20 minutes to read your post and I fear I need to reread it to remember what is at the front. The crochet patterns are so sweet but today is has been around 21 or 22 and it is mid winter here. Generally August can be cold because we feel the Antarctic winds. Today I bought some fabric to make baby clothing. But there is so much to do and I am afraid neither Pip nor Mum help much. Pip will say yes to everything and just not do it. I just don't seem to find much time.

I love the picnic set and the needlework jar.

God bless you today and always.

  2. Hi, Marie! Such good sugar alternative info...much look at that more closely. Just when I think we're reducing sugar use, we go up again. Lately I've been doing more baking, and with sugar... so that probably doesn't help... LOL! LOVE that cute crochet star-fish baby bunting--too cute! That Cosy Stripe Blanket is lovely... like Lucy of Attic 24's desisgns. So many goodies here today! We watched the first series or so of Lilyhammer... it got a little too rough and violent for us after a while, so we stopped watching... But the storylines in the first series were really fun and interesting--and fun that it was set here in Norway! ;) Happy Weekend to you all there... :))) ((LOVE & BIG HUGS))

  3. Oh dear Suzan! I don't know how you cope! You are one very patient lady. God bless! xoxo

Thanks Tracy. I expect that if the series gets really violent we will stop watching it also. As it is the language is a bit, you know, but it is hard to find a series without bad language in it these days. We thought it quite entertaining, but I take your point and see where it could easily go up the wrong track in future episodes! Happy weekend to you also, lvoe and hugs. xoxo

  4. I do love honey and have it in my tea and on toast with butter. They say if is very good for you. It's more expensive than sugar but then it seems anything good for you is always more expensive. Hope you have a fantastic Friday!

  6. That sounds as if it might be a good series Marie hope it continues in the same way. I don't have Netflix so don't get to see some of the great things you get. I just have the usual stations plus free sat...mind you almost all the stations play the same programmes just different times, so there's a lot of repeats. Whilst Mary is away I don't have it on nearly so much . I can sit and read more and of course play about on the I pad more! I enjoy playing....scrabble !! With friends, it's amazing to think we can be so many miles and continents apart but still keep our friendships growing with our words and messages to each other....wish I could crochet as I,think, that star shaped baby grow is lovely...as is the sewing kit...well I'm away now it's almost pill time !! Night night. God Blessmyou and Todd and Mitzie. ( Masy is lying sound asleep, we had the groomer in this afternoon and I find she is always tired after the session, but she does look lovely xx

    I have an afghan
similar with autumn colors that my Aunts gave me yrs ago.

Oh, my Daughter would love the pin cushion! She's into anything with the canning jars! lol.

Now I know how to float the flowers in a bowl.

That shirt looks comfortable. If only I sewed! lol.

Uh oh, it's going to storm!

Hugs Marie and give ur Todd a great big hug just bc!

  8. You are so right Pam! Anything that is good for you seems to be expensive. It should be the other way around! Have a great weekend! oxox

We will see how it goes Monique. I heard a lot of people complaining about Anne with an E, but we loved it and are looking forward to series 2! I can't believe you don't have it in Canada either! Crazy!xoxo

We have free sat also Sybil. Most of what we want to watch is on too late, so we tend to record and then watch the Netflix. I am sure you are missing Mary in a lot of ways, but also enjoying having your time to yourself! Mitzie is always exhausted after being to the groomers as well. I am sure it is very stressful! xoxo

Hope you didn't get too bad of a storm Jan! xoxo
