Sunday morning note . . .

Hey girls.  I got up extra early this morning so that we could have a quick catch up before I have to dash out again!  What a busy weekend we are having!

No news to really report from Todd's hospital appointment on Friday.  We are still on pins and needles, but they have sorted him a date for a bi-opsy on the 26th of October, so not long now, and we are awaiting a letter with a date for a scan, which will hopefully be before then.  So things are progressing well.  Please continue to keep him and Lura's husband John in your prayers.  And anyone else who is ill and or suffering or distressed, worried, etc.

Prayers are truly the passport to peace.  I believe this to be true.

We were blessed yesterday to be able to drive with the Missionary Sisters from our Ward up to Chorley to meet, listen to and be taught by several General Authories and a prophet, seer and revelator of the church, President Russell M Nelson.   What an uplifting experience this was, even though I did't sleep at all most of Friday night.  Sometimes that happens, especially if I have something to do early the next morning.  Friday night at 3 am, I was on my knees begging for some sleep.  I think I got about 2 hours.  We were up at 5:30 and on the road by 6:30.  What a blessing it was however to be there yesterday.   First of all to see ALL of the missionaries in the England Manchester Mission both junior and senior . . .  to see some of the missionaries we have been able to work with again and to give the Sisters a nice hug.  That is always wonderful.  To shake hands with an Apostle of the Lord.   To be able to listen to inspirational talks and instruction in the shadow of the Temple of our Lord there in Chorley.  Just a fabulous, fabulous day.  We both returned home filled to overflowing with Love of the Lord and each other and feeling positive and uplifted.  We had taken notes of our impressions throughout that special meeting and we were able to sit together and share them later in the afternoon and it was amazing to see how many similar impressions Todd and I had had to each other's impressions and inspirations.  The Gospel is truly amazing.

Grateful too for safety on the journey there and back again.  We always pray before we go anywhere in the car.  People, I am sure, see us doing that and think we are crazy, but it brings us a sense of peace.  Especially where I am such a nervous passenger.  On the way home we passed by a car that was on fire at the side of the road, or just starting to be on fire.  The driver was still in it and there was smoke pouring out from the engine and flames on the ground beneath the car.  I do so hope that he was able to get out and into safety.  It must have been a very bad day for him.  We passed a police car on the opposite side of the road racing to the location with siren blaring, so I am quite sure it was taken care of.    In fact I am sure it was as here is the incident  report from the Cheshire Fire Service page:

Details

Firefighters responded to a report of a car fire on the M56 between Junctions 12 and 14.

When they arrived crews found that there was a saloon care ablaze on the hard shoulder. Firefighters used one breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

I am sure that the poor passenger felt it was the worst day ever.  We were afraid to stop because Todd felt that the gas tank might blow up, so all we could do was to call it in to 999, and pray that all would be well for the person.  And it was.  So happy nobody was hurt.

And now early this morning we are on the road again to Wrexham to see President Nelson address our church Stake.  It should be an interesting meeting.  And the travel should also be interesting as Road Works are beginning this morning outside the venue where it is being held.  Oh joy, joy!  Sure to be an adventure to talk about at any rate!

Love and hugs to you all and Happy Sunday!  Wherever you go and whatever you get up to, don't forget . . .
