My Friday Finds

 photo FridayFinds_zpsb214ccd8.jpg

A few of the things I find each week which pique my curiosity or inspire me to want to do something, create something, cook something, or become a better person! I hope they will pique your curiosity or inspire you in some way as well!

Cold Frames from old windows and wood.   From For the Love of Lillian.

Pie Crust Chips and Cinnamon Dip.  These look mighty good.  Would be perfect for an autumn get-together.  From Pampered Chef.

Country Cottage Cushion Cover.  From Ravelry!  I love the colours.

No source, but this Christmas Bunting is really cute.  With a pair of pinking sheers and some bias tape, ribbon and bits and bobs, it wouldn't be all that hard to make.

I love this lacy shall/cowl.   Pattern from Drops Design.

What the different tips do.   I like this.   I have always wondered which tip did which design.  Now I know.  From  Layer Cake Shop.

Stained Glass Bunting.  I wish  . . .  to buy, not to make.  But I love it.  I love stained glass anything.

Lil Luna.  Pretty Tea Towel Tutorial.  These are adorable.  I wouldn't want to use them.

10 secrets only professional closet organizers know.   From Real Simple.

Family Emergency Binders from Mom with a Prep.

Cute Button Packaging.  This is so sweet and so simple.  From  Blog Umbralle.

CD envelope Treat Pouches from Our Best Bites.  So cute.  Free printables.

Envelopes made from old maps.  Found on Wolf Cub Chronicles.

DIY String Tie Envelopes.  From  Mineco.

Something festive to wear to the office Christmas party this year.   A DIY festive hair band.  Simple.  From The First Apartment Living.

Fish bowl snowman craft.   Even one on it's own would be a pretty Christmas Decoration.  From  Crafty Morning.

Frosty's hat from Keepsake Candles.   This wouldn't be hard to do from scratch yourself, and probably a lot cheaper too.

From Hometalk, easy tips for getting rid of pests.

Ketchup Bottle Bird Feeder from Wildlife Gadgetman.

And that's my finds for this week. I hope you found something useful!!

A thought to carry with you through today . . .

And I do too!!

PS - Thanks so much for your happy thoughts re the MOT for the car.  It was not as bad as it could have been.  Still have to come up with over £350 for repairs, but it could have been so much worse. ☺

  1. Good morning. My allergic reaction has coloured my day tired, washed out etc. I managed some housework and a little shopping. There is a pork roast in the oven for Will, Pip and Mum. I loathe the stuff and am thinking I will have a special drink my pharmacist gave me to try.

How I love some of the ideas shown today. So simple and so cute. I think the snowman bowls might be part of our tropical situation as will the hat! Thank you.

Lots of love and God bless.

Sadly I need to ask how did the MOT go?

  2. So sorry to read that you are still not well Suzan. ((((hugs)))) I am not overly fond of pork either. The MOT was not great, but not as bad as it could have been. We will have to come up with over £300 for the rear shock absorbers, but for a very old car (17 years) that is not too bad. I was expecting much worse! God bless your evening. xoxo

  5. Glad that the car passed it's MOT although that was still a big amount to have to pay.."been meaning to ask what did the ancestry thingy come up with ? It sounded such fun to be able to do that kind of thing....Sorry I didn't get commenting yesterday Thursday is always a busy day with helping at the. M coffee morning. Then last night I went out to Bath with Helen our church worker and a few others to a service of welcome for our new minister Elizabeth . I had met her once when she was invited to come along to our church to see if she would like to see if she ...and ...we...wanted to invite her to come...we did. She has two little ones they were there last night with her husband ( who is a house husband) also her Father and Mother were there. It was very nice.....This morning Mary and I have been to a local garden centre to get a bag of compost there's a nice coffee shop there and we of course stopped there ! Lovely cheese scones still warm...I can't eat a whole scone they are so filling but Mary manages to wolf down whatever I leave !!....hope that you are enjoying today it's a bit duller here but still mild...take care xxx

  7. I think bunting makes every occasion a celebration Pam! Happy Friday to you too! xoxo

We haven't had the work done yet Sybil, that will happen tomorrow! Its a good thing we have a bit saved for it! I do love to visit a garden centre! I always have to have a poke around, what fun! Your new pastor sounds lovely! I am sure you will all help her to settle in very nicely! It has been dull off and on here today. It gets quite cool when the sun goes behind the clouds! xoxo

We do use our car for Missionary work Monique, but Missions are always served at the person's own expense. Even the youngsters pay to serve a mission. They save their whole lives to go. It is seen as a gift back to God and an act of service to mankind. We don't mind. We are actually very lucky in that we didn't have to leave our home in order to serve a mission. Most of the older couples that do often bear the expense of keeping their home open where they come from, as well as paying for accomodation, cars, insurance, petrol, medical, etc. in the area where they are serving. Air fares also. The Mission President has oftimes said he would help us, but we don't like to ask. We want to give as much as we can. It is a small price to pay for the blessings that are ours. How WONDERFUL that you used to do stained glass!! I always wanted to take classes but could never afford them. I am a great admirer of stained glass. You are a multi talented woman my dear friend! I would love to see some of your work! xoxo
