My Friday Finds . . .

 photo FridayFinds_zpsb214ccd8.jpg

A few of the things I find during the week which strike my fancy. I hope that they might also strike yours!

I have come across a few recipes that asked for Tomato Powder.  This might come in handy.  Found on Self Reliant School.

Doll House Pot Holders.  A complete tutorial, found on Freda's Hive.  These are adorable.

I also love LOVE these heart shaped ones from The Dixie Chicken, another complete tutorial.  I need new pot holders.  Can you tell?  To my way of thinking you can never have too many pot holders!

I love, Love, LOVE these counted cross stitch pin cushions.  ADORABLE.  From THIS PAGE

If you've been reading me for very long, you will know I just adore red and white toadstools.  So as you can imagine I totally love LOVE this handcrafted toadstool brooch.  I could not find a source.  *sniff *sniff.

No Pattern, just inspiration.  Lovely little egg cosies.  From Not On The Highstreet.   Actually it's not even there, but that is where the image originated from.  These wouldn't be all that hard to make for yourself.  Not if you are a keen embroiderer or sewer.  Now there's a project for me.  Create a pattern for you.

Crochet Flower Buttons.  Such a simple idea and so cute.  From Wonderful DIY

Maximize your Kitchen storage.   There are some really great ideas here.  Loving this undersink storage for a start.  Found on My Home Ideas.

THIS is a fabulous idea.  Using a garden wall planter for off the counter storage in the kitchen, for fruit.  I love it! I could not find a source.

Ingredient Substitutions.  How many times have you gone to make something only to find you are missing one ingredient.  Perhaps there is a substitute?  Found on Cents Less Deals.

Edible Tea Cups using ice cream cones, and a few sweeties and cookies.  Sweet.  From Wikihow. Such a cute idea.  If you were great at decorating cakes, etc. you could add a few trims to pretty them up.  Wouldn't these be perfect for a little girls' tea party?

and finally . . .

From Sarah Johnson, a free printable 2016 planner.

And that's it for this week.  I hope you found something that you could use here!

A thought to carry with you through today . . .

  2. Dearest Marie,

As usual I cannot catch the pictures. I will wait until very late tonight and try again.

Once again our lives cross. Mum and I have just spent 90 odd minutes converting turkey drumsticks to mince. IN the 80s we used have a lot of parties and mum became a whizz at making turkey meatballs. I thought she used a maryland type cut. It was very cheap then. Anyway we were able to buy 2.5 kg drumsticks (3 enormous ones) for $5.20. Mum decided it was time to bring these balls back into our life. Never again. Never, Never. Never. It took 3 people hours and there is still mess to clean for a yield of 1 kilo of meat. Turkey patties or turkey balls it doesn't matter. I was not allowed to make stock but I am sure you could turn the skin, sinews and meaty bones into something flavourful.

God bless your day and have some fun.

  3. Hi, Marie! Wow, Friday again, already... How did that happen so fast?! LOL... Tomato powder??!! I've not come across that, not yet anyway. What is the benefit of tomato powder? A bit concentrated in taste maybe, a bit like tomato paste/puree is? hhhmmm... VERY interesting! Such CUTE potholders!! LOVE that one with the house with the sewing machine in the window!! (That's my room... ;) Those toadstool brooches... *swoon*... Too SWEET! What a clever idea--those buttons with the crochet. I would never have thought of that--my brain must be slow... LOL! And I do love that idea of that wire-work planter used for fruit storage--NICE space saver!! We have limited countertop space, so something like that would be great. Edible teacups... adorable... so many great ideas today, Marie! Happy Weekend, my friend ((LOVE & HUGS))

  6. You should have frozen all the extra bits to make stock sometime when your mum is in a better mood Suzan! The meatballs sound nice! I bet you get a fair few out of a kilo of meat! Hope your day has ended well. xoxo

I saw a bouillon made using tomato powder Tracy, and it would be great in dressings or gravies. I can feel that extra bounce in your step here today that comes from having a load lifted from your shoulders, and answered prayers! God bless! Love and hugs! Happy Weekend! xoxo

I am going to try to make myself a toadstool Monique! ;-) We have had a very busy day so far today and its not finished yet! Happy weekend to you also! xoxo

Thanks Pam! I hope you have a fantastic Friday also! Happy weekend to you too! xoxo

Typical isn't it....never mind I hope you managed to see it, it was a wonderful programme giving us such an insight into the queens early years right up to today's children all made with video recordings..I never knew that the Queen was so into using a vine camera...thanks as always for today's,....finds....like the idea of the ice cream cone cups !...and the lovely egg cosies...not that I often eat a boiled egg and when I do I eat it immediately so dosent need a cosy !!
