Friday Finds . . .
A few of the wow moments, or things I discover each week that tickle my fancy. I hope that they may inspire or tickle yours too!
I love paper crafts and I thought these little envelopes were really cute and a great way to use up small bits of paper that aren't large enough for other things. Found on Nellie Bellie.
Bonkers for Bolster Pillows on Heathered Nest. There are all sorts of ideas and links to a tutorial on how to make them. I love the bed and the chandelier and of course the cow picture, although I am not sure I would have it in a bedroom.
Everything you need for a naturally fresh home from the Bold Abode. Not sure we can get all of these things here in the UK. I know I miss Borax. I always used to use it in my wash, and I've never ever seen a bag that size of bicarbonate of soda. Wowsa! Would love! I use baking soda for all sorts, but we only ever get it in very tiny tubs here.
Make your own Washi Tape Stickers and a whole lot of other Washi Tape Goodness. Found on Washi Tape Crafts. I love Washi Tape.
A Tutorial on how to make your own Industrial Paper Towel Holder. From Design, Dining and Diapers. I love it!
Make your own Citronella Candles. We don't get many midges or mosquitos here where I live, although I do know that they are a big problem in Scotland. Back home we were always inundated with Black Flies and Mosquitos all through the warmer months. You could barely sit outside. These would have come in very handy. From Marty's Musings.
A Dividing Plants Cheat Sheet. I can sure use this. I want to divide up some of the oriental poppies and other things in the garden. From My Soulful Home.
How to identify and avoid Poison Ivy. (I don't think they have it over here.) From House of Hawthornes. I was always taught as a child . . . "When Leaves you see Three, Flee." The son of a friend of ours onetime sat in a big patch of poison oak. No laughing matter.
How to learn Caligraphy in Five Days. From Julie Blanner. Fabulous tutorial!
Now, this is really useful. How to use a Pastry Bag. From My Soulful Home. Very helpful. I could use a tutorial on how to "FIND" your pastry bag. I've been looking for mine for days . . .
And there you have it my Friday Finds for this week. I hope there was something here that you could use!
I finally got my camera back. I thought it was taking ever so long. I called them and apparently there were some "issues" with our telephone number. I checked on the paper I was given and both numbers were written down correctly so your guess is as good as mine. I took this photo of our oriental poppies, which shows all of the stages in the life of a poppy . . . buds waiting to burst open, newborn poppies, fading poppies and gone to seed poppies.
Here's another one I took of some of the wild flowers in our wild flower area of the garden. So happy to have my camera back. It takes such lovely photos.
A thought to carry with you through today . . .

"Last night as I was sleeping, I dreamt . . .
marvelous error!!
That I had a beehive here inside my heart.
And the golden bees were making white combs
and sweet honey from my old failures."
~Antonio Machado, "Last Night As I Lay Sleeping."
Cooking in The English Kitchen today . . . Beer Battered Fish and Twice Cooked Chips!
Have a wonderful Friday! Don't forget . . .
