Friday Finds . . .
A few of the wow moments, or things I discover each week that tickle my fancy. I hope that they may inspire or tickle yours too!
26 Food Swaps for healther snacking. From Feed Buzz. For starters I would never have a bagel or an English muffin spread with cream cheese, jam or anything else as a "snack." That would be a meal to me, but whatever. There is some good information there regardless.
Perhaps you're not as obsessed with recipes as I am, but I have quite a few prints out stacked in a pile. Here's a nifty way to organize them from Confessions of a SerialDIYer.
A really nice Menu Planner. I try to plan each week before I do my shopping, but it's just a handwritten list on a piece of foolscap. This is way nicer to look at! From Heartland Paper.
Seven ways to cut the clutter in your refrigerator. From Delicious Recipes.
Organic control of plant disease. This is very useful. From Garden Therapy.
Sew Easy Outdoor Cushion Covers. A complete tutorial. Another one from Confessions of a Serial diyer.
How to age Terra Cotta Pots. From Debbie Doos.
15 Clever ways to use baby wipes that have nothing to do with babies. Genius from Ebay.
Twenty Five Books that will make your kids (and grand-kids) laugh. From No Time For Flashcards. I had not heard of most of these.
Embellished Dish Towels. Really cute. From Melissa Mortenson at The Polka Dot Chair.
And that's it for this week. I sure hope you found something here that you could use yourself!
I did another angel yesterday. This might be one of my favourites so far. I don't know. I just know I am enjoying creating them. I think they would make great figurines. Of course those are not the wings I would choose for a figurine.
These are the kind of wings I would choose. Small and cute, on the back. They just wouldn't show up in a flat painting and so I have done the large ones to show that wings would be there. Sigh . . . I would be the happiest person on earth if I could see these as figurines.
No news is good news right?
Right.
A thought to carry with you through today . . .

That could be good or bad . . . depending on where you find yourself! haha
In The English Kitchen today . . . a Hot Hamburger Platter. It's Diner Food!
Have a wonderful Friday. Hasn't this week just flown by?? (Not to mention the month! It's just zoooming by!!)
Don't forget . . .

And I do too!
Good morning Marie,
ReplyDeleteI have beeen watching some Rachel Ray shows and I am horrified at the size of the portions. The meals seem huge.
Ihave a Tonks sleeoing at my feet. When i bought him I wanted a cat to cuddle. Alas he is not. In fact he is a busy little cat who never stops eating. All boy.
I love your angels. They make me smile.
God bless.
I so agree about the month flying by Marie. I am ure someone is quickening up the planet ... one day it might pin so fast we will all fly off LOL
ReplyDeletejust away to take alook at the ues for the wet wipes see if there is anything I hadn't thought of to use them for..
Hope you have nice day ahead..looks a bot like rain down here at the moment although forecast is dry...I am away to have my eyes tested today appointment at 9 in Chippenham..I think I need new ones as at church last Sunday I was doing a bible reading and I had to use one of the bibles up there as my bibles print did not seem so clear, and that has never happened before...Ah well I think mayeb I am just falling apart at the seams !!!
I don't know why Suzan, but everything on Telly looks huge food wise! Not sure if it is the camera angles or what! Cats are very independant, but dogs are cuddlers. Just my experience! God bless you too.

I hope your eye appointment goes well Sybil. We do seem to fall apart as we get older. Sigh . . . xoxo
Hi, Marie! That menu planner sure is prettier than the one I have currently--homemade blank calendar... LOL!But I love having a weekly menu, and as much of the ingredients as possible waiting in the fridge--makes mealtimes so much easier! So many fun finds today. I like those embellished tea towels. I've done something like that before... makes for nice, useful gifts. Oh, your Christmas angel is sooo sweet--I like how you let their dresses tell part of the story. :o) Wishing you all there a lovely weekend now, dear friend ((LOVE & BIG HUGS)) P.S. LOVE the Greek Mac & Cheese recipe from your previous post. Oh, and the facial hair thing... being mid-age I'm experiencing some that now... *sigh... :o/
ReplyDeleteThe hamburger looks so good. Meat doesn't usually thrill me, but hamburgers have tasted SO good lately.
ReplyDeleteSome of your illustrated angels could always be turned to the side or peeking over their shoulders, you know. :) Your drawings are dear, and your angel ones are your best ones yet, I think. ♥
I do love baby wipes and use them often here at my house. Your newest angel is probably my favorite with the mighty names of God on her skirt. Yes, I've always thought that no news is good news. Strange isn't it that we always hear the bad news first. Hope you have a fantastic Friday !
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracy! I hope you are experiencing some nicer weather now, flowers, spring, etc. My menu planner is just a piece of paper as I said. I think I will be doing this one! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Val! Those are great ideas! I am glad you like the angels! xoxo
Thanks Pam! I think she is my favourite one as well! Hope your Friday is all that you hope it to ge! xoxo
Enjoy the weekend:)
ReplyDeleteJust sent you an email:)
Darling angels:)
Hi Marie, thought I would just pop in to say all went well with eye test this morning...well maybe not well...I have cataracts and apparently it / they need operating on asap. so they write to my own Dr and to hospital and I hould hear from hosp in about 8 - 10 weeks..At least I know what is wrong and that it can be sorted out...Funny Rob the man across teh road who is same age as me had a cataract op last week..so I will have to ask him all about it next time I se ehim to speak to... See you in the morning HAve a nice evening no doubt cuddled up to Mitzie..xx
ReplyDeleteI love all of these and will spend sometime looking at them. I have a stack of recipes that I need to get organized. My problem is that we eat such a simple fare that I don't end up using them; I just love to collect them. I do have several of yours; which I have loved.
ReplyDeleteI loved the menu plan of which I need to shop with a menu shopping list. I used to do that years ago.
I just cleaned out my refrigerator; but it could use better organizing.
The baby wipes and children's books I must look into.
I have been loving all of your drawings and I can see them as figurines; they would be adorable.
Wishing you the best on this because they should choose your work in my opinion.
Oh, that recipe looks so yummy.
Blessings and hugs for you dear friend.
Todd has the beginnings of a cataract as well Sybil. They are waiting to operate on his. Time will tell. They are quite simple ops and have a lot of success. Love and hugs to you! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks LeAnn! Blessings and hugs to you too! xoxo
