I wish we got more Trick or Treaters, but alas each year we only get a handful! xoxo

A trunk full of costumes! What fun Monique! xoxo

Your church activity sounds like fun Sybil! I loved also reading about your childhood Halloweens! They do a Trunk and Treat at our chapel on Halloween. You decorate your car boot and hand out goodies there. xoxoMarie Raynerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00407913432222377267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-762115079758642698.post-15291924000124275642015-10-28T20:21:41.248+00:002015-10-28T20:21:41.248+00:00As you rightly say Marie Hallowe'en is relativ...As you rightly say Marie Hallowe'en is relatively new over here well trick n treat is....in Scotland I think I've said before we went ...guising.."
We dressed up and for weeks before we had to practise doing ...something...singing a song, saying a poem telling a joke or some such. Then when we knocked at the doors....only of people we knew....they would invite us in to say our piece then they would give us some pennies and maybe an apple...can't ever remember getting sweets..( probably too soon after the war ! I'm not sure when sweets came of the ration book must have been the very early 50s...) the money we got we always used to buy fireworks....we did have to dress up and I was quite convinced that our neighbours would never recognise me or my pals who came with me LOL...we never get any children come round our way, we don't have any street lights on our site so expect that would put them off. We open the church that evening and invite any child and their parent in for hot chocolate and they might get a colouring book to colour in or something like that. I have never actually gone up but I hear that it's quite well attended...Sybilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02516012178494813281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-762115079758642698.post-3259625882755925682015-10-28T12:37:01.169+00:002015-10-28T12:37:01.169+00:00You have soo many great memories..I vaguley remebe...You have soo many great memories..I vaguley remeber our neighbor getting a trunk full of costumes from someone and I was a priest?

I remember a pillowcase w/ candy.And that's it.
I remember my daughetrs going out;)

It is getting more and more popular:)La Table De Nanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04358539954508050792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-762115079758642698.post-33153393632857559992015-10-28T10:56:50.030+00:002015-10-28T10:56:50.030+00:00It's always been a time of fun for our family....It's always been a time of fun for our family. The little ones delight in the treats and the grownups dress up too. I never really thought of it as anything but fun, certainly nothing negative. Hope you have a happy Halloween and only treats, no tricks.I'm mostly known as 'MA'https://www.blogger.com/profile/12107548726472541669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-762115079758642698.post-531434842024017302015-10-28T08:07:53.542+00:002015-10-28T08:07:53.542+00:00God bless your day as well Suzan! I understand the background in America but I am an Australian and I resent that the tradition is becoming stronger every year. There are great plans with the girls. Beth and J are going as Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf or grandma, Pip and C are going out as Mary Poppins and Bert,

Love,

SuzanSuzehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15283293507101152512noreply@blogger.com
