I feel exactly like you. True Happiness is found in recognizing the blessings in our lives and loving and serving others, Being content with what we have and sharing with others is such a key. It's how we must be to become Zion in our heart. . Pres. Hinckley's quote is a great one.
I always enjoy reading Elder Bednar's messages. Thanks for sharing. I will go back and read that talk again.
Blessings, love and hugs for you!LeAnnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18107717294803352571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-762115079758642698.post-92181622138756543732018-04-20T08:24:55.670+01:002018-04-20T08:24:55.670+01:00You are right Barb! Loved your post...:0)
Being content ...Hi Marie~

Loved your post...:0)

Being content with what you have, when the world around you is telling you differently, is so difficult, especially for young people. I am always appalled at the waste and the glutton that is all around me. When we moved into our community, it was just a little country place, everyone was pretty much the same. Then the housing boom started, and any empty field that was more than 10 acres, turned into a housing addition...with very large homes! We happened to be right smack dab in the middle of all that. I have watched these young couples, try to balance job, family, money, travel, expensive toys, and excess to the max! It does not work! Something always suffers, and usually, it's the family. I know that someday they will learn that it's not the big things that are important in life, but the small things...like you said...enjoying the little things in life. I just hope it's not too late for some of them. I also know how easy it is to get caught up in, because once, I was young... ;0) That said, some of the richest people I know, are the very poorest.

The salad looks wonderful, and I hope Todd is feeling better. I wish I was there to enjoy it with you! I worked with a friend who is from Israel, and when I was sick, her grandmother would make a delicious chicken soup with that big pearl couscous, it was wonderful, and it really did make me feel better!

Elder Bednar has such wonderful insight! It really does take a lot of work to apply the gospel and not just sit back, enjoy, and let others do the work for you...we are ultimately responsible for our own salvation. We need to do the work!

Much love to you!!

Hugs and Love,
Barb

Barbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15158897469583069249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-762115079758642698.post-62828882514194402692018-04-18T20:53:38.601+01:002018-04-18T20:53:38.601+01:00YEs, some rows can be very hard to row Monique. I ...YEs, some rows can be very hard to row Monique. I always think that there but for the Grace of God go I! Todd loves Call the Midwife too. Be prepared, you will need multiple Kleenex boxes before the series ends! Yes the actress who plays Trixie is with “Tom” in real life. It’s a brilliant series. Best one ever I think, next to Downton!
