OUTSIDE MY WINDOW ...
A beautiful sunrise out the back. A beautiful gift.
I AM THINKING ...
We are supposed to get 6cm of snow on Thursday. That is about 3 inches. Doesn't sound like much, but it could keep me home. It depends on when it starts. It's -9*C/15.8*F at the moment so very cold. That doesn't take into consideration the windchill. Cold. Cold. Cold.
I AM ALSO THINKING ...
My neighbor across the way came over with a plate of goodies last night. I will have to save them for when my daughter and son-in-law come over because I really shouldn't be eating anything like that. Chocolates, Oreo Truffles, some kind of squares. Very kind, but I don't dare eat any of it.
I do have some lovely neighbors. I am blessed.
I AM GRATEFUL FOR ...
Good neighbors. This is a lovely street to live on. God really helped me to fall on my feet here. It is such a great blessing.
IN THE KITCHEN ...
Deluxe Ham Casserole. I had bought a small dinner ham to make sandwiches with to take to my friends on Friday last and still had some left so I made a delicious casserole with it yesterday. I took most of it next door to Sheila who was most appreciative. This is simple to make and delicious. Creamy, cheesy, smoky. Just right.
ON MY "TO COOK" LIST ...
This old fashioned Sauerkraut Salad looks good. Just that Perfect Piece. I like Sauerkraut Salad.
THIS I BELIEVE ...
My home is sacred to me. Holy Ground I call it. A sanctuary against the world. A place of peace and comfort. A shelter against the storm.
SOMETHING THAT IS NICE ...
A beautifully decorated banister for the holidays.
SOMETHING ELSE THAT IS NICE ...
Lights in the snow . . .
I AM WANTING TO CREATE ...
A watch brooch . . .
Little wire snowmen . . .
Men in the moon . . .
Little people with character . . .
A beautiful papier mache fox . . . stunning.
SOMETHING I ENJOY ...
Paper collage . . .
SOMETHING ELSE I ENJOY ...
Playing with Lego. Its not something I had when I was a child, but it is something I enjoy playing with as an adult.
Oh my goodness . . . I used to love making gingerbread houses for my kids every year. This one is really pretty.
I AM READING ...

We didn't get the snow predicted overnight, just drizzle and misty rain. We were able to get out and get the last of our fresh shopping this morning. Hope the snow avoids your area on Thursday so you can get out and enjoy Christmas Day with your family. Hubby likes the George Gently shows. I love Rhys Bowen books, haven't read the one you mentioned, will check it out. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteWe did get a ton of snow, but I was able to get to my sister's and she drove me home later in the day as by that time we had had quite a lot and I am just not all that comfortable driving on unplowed roads! I had a lovely day with everyone. Hope you had a lovely Christmas also! xoxo
DeleteThe sourkraut salad looks yummy...not sure I ever had that...also would be healthy!!
